If you're a photographer wanting to earn extra income in your spare time and give you financial freedom to upgrade your equipment, pay some extra bills or take a vacation then join any or all the micro stock photography sites below and start making money right away! It's that simple!
Here are some MicroStock sites where you can see, buy my work, or if you are a photographer you can make your own money:
| Shutterstock - With over 2 million images, SS has the biggest inventory of images for designers with a subscription-based program instead of the typical pay-per-image option of most other sites. For photographers, it's by far the most lucrative of all the sites and the forums are quite active and helpful. |
| Dreamstime - DT has close to 1 million images. For designers, it has the most generous free image section on the Web. It's a friendly community and well worth investing the time for extra income. | |
| BigstockPhoto - BS is close on DT's heals in terms of available images for purchase so it's a good spot for designers. But it doesn't rank it the top 5 income generators for the moment. Sales have increased in 2006 making it 6th on the list. So if you have time to upload to more than 5 sites, BigStock should be next on your list. | |
| IstockPhoto - IS was the instigator of the microstock photography movement. They now have the 3rd biggest image library and work on a pay-per-image concept. You have to be an exclusive member (selling your images only on Istock) or it will create some frustration with small weekly upload limits, very long image review times and time-consuming uploading and keywording systems. It's still one of the top 5 income generators so well worth uploading your images to. |
Fotolia = Inovation It's a pay-per-image concept. And has grown quite fast in the last year due to photographer upload incentives. FT brings good income to photographers. |
| 123rf - With over 500 thousand images, 123RF is carving its place among the microstock leaders on the Web. It offers both per image and subscription downloads. It still has to work on advertizing to draw in more clients. Photographer income is roughly 30% of Dreamstime or Fololia. |
| StockExpert - Xpert's image bank is growing daily and visibility has increased since its acquisition by JupiterImages. Easy uploading interface. No need much time to work with it... |
| Mostphotos - MostPhotos is a MidStock, prices are bigger than the micros. Very user-friendly and no need much time to work with it... Why don't you give it a try? | |
| YayMicro - YayMicro is a new microstocking agency, that hasn't started yet to sell photos... It's the best time to upload your photos, since they nedd all material that they can get... News are expected soon... |
